National Doughnut Day First Friday in June

In 1917, the original “Salvation Army Doughnut” was first served by the ladies of the Salvation Army.  It was during WWI that the Salvation Army Lassies went to the front lines of Europe.  Home cooked foods, provided by these brave volunteers, were a morale boost to the troops.

The doughnuts were often cooked in oil inside the metal helmets of American soldiers.  American infantrymen were then commonly called “doughboys.”  A more standard spelling is donut. 

On this day, many bakeries and coffee shops in the United States offer doughnut deals to their customers.

When you are done with the typing test open Audacity and practice recording your voice and using the effects.

When you are done go to Typing Web and complete lesson titled "Q, Y, and P Keys".

After you finish your typing lesson, finish your Google Form/Spreadsheet/Presentation assignment and turn it in to Google Classroom.

Today you will tell me about the worst movie you ever saw.  The movie where after you watched it, you wished you'd never seen it. Tell me if you were the one who wanted to see it, if not tell me who convinced you to watch it.  Tell me what the movie was about and the reason it was such a bad movie.  Remember, 1 picture, and 5 comments. When you are finished please log into Typing Web and complete the lesson titled "W, X, and ; Keys". 

When you are done with your typing lesson, go back out to the Google Form you created on Wednesday.  EVERYONE NEEDS TO CHECK SPELLING AND CAPITALIZATION and PUNCTUATION...Many of you did not capitalize your titles, end your questions with a question mark, and I saw MANY spelling errors.

I will post the forms when I see the corrections are made.

When you are finished, please begin your Typing Web Lesson "Period & Comma"  If you get done early go to yelp.com and find out what others think about restaurants near you.

For today's Blog you will tell the class the funniest story you have ever heard or the funniest joke you have ever heard. Please let the class know where you heard the story/joke or who told you the story/joke. Also tell the class another joke they have probably never heard before. Please keep the story/joke school appropriate. Remember to name and number your post, 5 sentences, 1 picture and 5 comments.  

When you are finished please go to  Typing Web and complete the lessons titled "O, B and A Keys" and "V, H and M Keys"If you get done with that before the class period is over please click HERE to visit an animation website called abc animate.  Explore this website an make an animation of your own.Once you are done save your animation and add it to today's blog.

I read the notes from the sub on Tuesday and was very disappointed by the report.  While you are working today, talking should be at a minimum.  I have left instructions with the substitute to write down the names of anyone who is talking too much or misbehaving in any way.  

STAY FOCUSED AND ON TASK!

Cereal companies try to entice customers by placing all kinds of prizes in their boxes; toys, gadgets, and games are just a few examples.  If you could find any prize, what surprise would you like to find in a cereal box? Why? Remember it has to fit in a cereal box! Use your imagination and have fun with this one. Don't forget your 5 & 5: Five sentences minimum and comment on five other blogs when you are done.
